Miami-Dade County
Hand-selected granite slabs from Miami's top yards, digital templating, and seamless installation. Custom fabrication for kitchens, baths, and outdoor spaces.
Granite remains one of the most popular countertop materials in Miami for good reason: it is harder than quartz, more heat-resistant than marble, naturally antibacterial when sealed, and available in a range of patterns from subtle solid colors to dramatic veining. The difference between a beautiful granite installation and a disappointing one is not the material — it is the fabrication and installation. We have been fabricating and installing granite countertops across Miami-Dade for over twenty years, and the projects we are most proud of are the ones where you cannot see the seams.
Granite comes in thousands of patterns, and the slab you choose at the yard is the one you live with. Color and movement vary dramatically from slab to slab even within the same quarry. We bring every Miami client to slab yards in Doral and Hialeah to hand-select the exact pieces that will become their countertops. For larger projects, we mark the cutting layout with painter's tape directly on the slabs so you can see how the pattern flows across the kitchen before any saw touches the stone.
Modern granite fabrication uses digital templating with laser measurement to achieve millimeter-precise fit. We map your cabinetry, plumbing, and appliance cutouts in CAD, then send the file directly to CNC saws and waterjet machines. Seam placement is planned during templating — we orient seams away from sightlines and high-traffic zones whenever possible. Edge profiles range from clean eased edges to dramatic mitered or waterfall details. The edge choice should match the rest of your kitchen architecture: minimalist contemporary pairs with eased edges, traditional pairs with ogee or bullnose, modern luxury pairs with full mitered.
Each material has trade-offs. Granite is the most heat-tolerant (you can set a hot pan directly on it) and the most affordable for the dramatic-pattern looks. Quartz is engineered, non-porous, and zero-maintenance but cannot tolerate sustained direct heat. Marble has the most luxurious look but stains and etches more easily. For a Miami kitchen with cooks who use the surface heavily and want bold pattern, granite wins. For minimalist white kitchens with low-maintenance priorities, quartz wins. For statement-piece luxury kitchens, marble or quartzite wins. We help you choose during the consultation.
Granite is naturally porous and must be sealed at installation and resealed every 1 to 3 years depending on usage. We apply a penetrating impregnator sealer during installation that lasts 12-24 months under normal kitchen use. For routine cleaning, use pH-neutral granite cleaner — never vinegar, lemon juice, or bleach, all of which break down the sealer. Properly maintained granite countertops in Miami easily last 30+ years and never need replacement. We offer optional annual maintenance visits to reseal and polish for clients who prefer professional care.

"We picked the most dramatic Black Galaxy slab at Doral Stones and AP Stone fabricated it into a 12-foot kitchen island with a single mitered seam at the corner. The seam is invisible. The customer compliments are constant."

"Bath countertop in a remote bookmark-style granite. They drove us to the yard, marked the cutting layout on the slab with tape, and fabricated exactly to plan. Installation took half a day. The fit is so good there are no visible seams at the wall."

"Outdoor kitchen countertop in honed Absolute Black. AP Stone helped us choose a granite that handles Miami sun and rain without fading. Three years in, looks identical to install day."

Granite countertops in Miami typically cost $60 to $120 per square foot installed, depending on slab grade, edge profile, and cutout complexity. A standard 40 sq ft kitchen countertop runs $2,400 to $4,800 fabricated and installed. Exotic or rare granite patterns can reach $150-200 per sq ft. Final pricing includes templating, fabrication, installation, sealing, and warranty.
AP Stone takes every client to slab yards in Doral and Hialeah to hand-select granite before fabrication. We work with multiple suppliers including Stone International, Doral Stones, and MSI Miami. You see the entire slab in person, walk around it to evaluate color and movement, and approve the cutting layout before any saw touches the stone.
From contract signing to installation, expect 2 to 4 weeks: 1 week for slab selection and templating, 1-2 weeks for fabrication, and a single day for installation. Templating happens after cabinets are set; installation is fast once the stone is fabricated. Total disruption to your kitchen is minimal.

Granite is natural stone, heat-resistant, requires periodic sealing. Quartz is engineered (90% crushed quartz, 10% resin), non-porous, zero-maintenance, but heat-sensitive. Marble is natural stone with the most luxurious look but stains and etches with acidic foods. For heavy-use kitchens, granite or quartz. For statement-piece luxury, marble or quartzite.
